The WordPress Cluster package provides an automated, high-availability setup for WordPress within a cluster of lightweight containers. It handles all the necessary configurations, including installing a web server, database, load balancer, and shared storage. The package also enables automatic horizontal scaling based on workload and interconnects all components into a single, seamless system. This ensures your WordPress site can handle high traffic, remain accessible during peak loads, and deliver enterprise-level performance and reliability—without requiring advanced DevOps expertise.
With a WordPress Cluster, you can take advantage of the following features:
-
Deploy a WordPress cluster powered by LiteSpeed and a highly available MariaDB Galera cluster
-
Integrate fault-tolerant shared storage using GlusterFS
-
Get a free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate with automatic renewal
-
Connect your custom domain and update its certificate
-
Automatically scale resources based on demand
WordPress Cluster Installation
To install the WordPress Cluster package, follow these steps:-
In the Cloudjiffy Application Platform dashboard, click the Marketplace button located at the top.
-
In the search bar, type WordPress Cluster Kit, then select the package from the results and click Install.
-
In the installation window, select a Scaling Strategy based on your expected traffic load.
From our experience, the following three automated scaling options work well for WordPress to prevent overload (you can adjust these settings after installation):
-
Low Load
-
Adds 1 application server node (up to 16) when workload exceeds 70%
-
Removes 1 application server node (down to 2) when workload drops below 20%
-
-
Medium Load
-
Adds 1 application server node (up to 16) when workload exceeds 50%
-
Removes 1 application server node (down to 2) when workload drops below 20%
-
-
High Load
-
Adds 2 application server nodes (up to 16) when workload exceeds 30%
-
Removes 1 application server node (down to 2) when workload drops below 10%
-
Next, personalize your WordPress cluster by enabling the desired advanced features:
-
Choose LiteSpeed High-Performance Web Server as an alternative to the default NGINX web server
-
Enable Brute Force Attack Protection and Web Application Firewall for LiteSpeed
-
Opt for a MariaDB Galera Cluster instead of the default Primary-Primary database cluster
-
Install the Let’s Encrypt SSL with Auto-Renewal add-on to automatically issue a free SSL certificate
-
Select a GlusterFS Cluster in place of the default shared storage
-
Set up a WordPress Multisite Network
-
Add the WooCommerce plugin for WordPress
Finally, enter the Environment Name and Display Name, select the availability Region (if applicable), and click Install.
The platform will then automatically create and configure your WordPress Cluster environment based on your chosen settings within a few minutes.
That’s it! Your WordPress cluster environment is now ready, and you can start building your website. The platform will take care of scaling and managing the cluster automatically, so you can focus on creating content and growing your business.
