WordPress Update Guide

Updating WordPress is an essential part of maintaining your website’s security and performance. Regular updates ensure that you have the latest features, bug fixes, and security patches. This guide will walk you through the process of updating your WordPress installation:

Note: It is a good practice to back up your WordPress site before performing any changes, including updates. This ensures that you can restore your site to a previous state in case something goes wrong during the update process.

  • WordPress software updates (core, themes, and plugins) can be done from the WordPress admin panel. If there are any updates available, you will see a notification in your WordPress admin panel. You can update WordPress core by going to Dashboard > Updates and clicking the Update to version X.X.X button.

  • Plugins and themes can be updated from the same page. Just select the ones you want to update and click the Update Plugins or Update Themes button.

  • To update the server components your WordPress is running on (application server, database, etc.), find the required one in the Cloudjiffy Application Platform dashboard and click the Redeploy button. This will open the redeployment window, where you can select the latest version of the server, including the PHP version for the application server:

Clicking the Redeploy button will not affect your WordPress data, as it will only update the server software.
